A Do Not Contact (DNC) list consists of contacts you've decided not to reach out to in your cold email campaigns. This can include current clients, competitors, or people already moving through your sales funnel.
Our clients send us a list and we add it to the DNC within Smartlead so that we never reach out to any of these contacts.
Purpose:
The primary purpose of a DNC list is to prevent unsolicited emails from being sent to individuals who have opted out of communications. This builds trust with your audience and helps maintain a positive brand reputation.
Maintaining the List:
Regularly update your DNC list to ensure it accurately reflects current preferences. Remove contacts who have opted out and ensure they do not receive further marketing materials.
Benefits:
By maintaining a DNC list, you can improve your email engagement rates, reduce bounce rates, and minimize the risk of being marked as spam, ultimately leading to better deliverability and more successful campaigns.
Once you apply a domain (example: Leadbird.io) or a specific email address (example: jim@leadbird.io), the DNC will scan the lead list once added to the campaign to find any matches and will block the lead so that no messages get sent to the lead.
We only apply your DNC at the sequencer level. Since we are scraping the leads before adding them to the sequencer, they may be on the lead list. As long as you’ve uploaded them into the DNC, they will be removed and blocked at the sequencer level.
We do need either a domain (e.g.Leadbird.io) or a specific email address (e.g. leads@leadbird.io). We can not block an individual company name (e.g. Leadbird LLC).
We only need one, but it would be best to have both for enhanced accuracy.
